The coffee industry is notorious for neglecting to observe fair labour standards. Since we go to great lengths here at HTnaturals to make certain that our practices do not infringe on the rights of others, we can't help but extend those values to our purchasing decisions. As of May, 2007, all of the coffee at HTnaturals is supplied by the Van Houtte coffee company. Although Van Houtte carries both conventional and certified organic and fair trade grinds, HTnaturals exclusively chooses the latter.
HTnaturals' President and Founder drives a carbon neutral car!
Jason Finnis, President and Founder of HTnaturals, has purchased three(3) years worth of greenhouse gas offsets for his new 2.0L turbocharged four-door hatchback. Driving approximately 20,000km per year, Jason's car emits 8000kg of harmful greenhouse gases, but with the simple and affordable
Driving Green program its as if he never turned the key. Now Jason can drive his spritely vehicle
and sleep soundly!
As of April, 2007, all of HTnaturals computers are powered by wind:
For three(3) years beginning April, 2007, The Pembina Institute is ensuring that enough wind energy is sent to the grid to power all of our computers and servers here at HTnaturals. While we still get our power from the grid like everyone else, we have purchased wind power certificates equivalent to the amount of energy used by our computers, effectively avoiding the emissions and other environmental drawbacks of conventional energy. One of many steps towards becoming completely green, this purchase of 3-years worth of eco-logo certified renewable energy credits represents the beginning of a comprehensive plan to become carbon neutral throughout all of our operations worldwide.
